A week of 100 millimeters

Shooting with my 100mm 2.8 macro for the last week was a lot of fun.  Macro is quite the art that lends itself to small apertures (sometimes) and NO MOVING OR BREATHING.  I wish I had found more bugs, creepy or not, during my week, but I'll be keeping an eye out.  I also found that the 100mm lends itself to other uses as well.  It's a great portrait lens...technically, I didn't take any portraits with it this week (though see my previous blog post for a bunch of those!) and while it's not quite long enough for the type of surfing photos that I like, it does make for some interesting surfing compositions with much less weight than my longer, heavier telephoto lens with my teleconverter.  As you can see, I spent some (a lot?) of time at the beach, saw a fawn (after sunset, even...yay for modern cameras and high ISO!), and spent some time with my local mantis.  If only I had found some creepy spiders...
