This series is part of a personal project I've had in my head for a few months. I wanted to take portraits but without showing the subject's face. I love faces, and eyes, so this was particularly challenging for me to NOT photograph those. I decided that ballerinas, particularly ones who dance en pointe, would be perfect for this project due to the beauty and expressiveness of their hands and feet. Ashley was my first participant in this project (thank you, Ashley!) and last weekend I went up to North Kingstown to take some photos at her dance studio, The Talent Factory. Here are some of the shots we got. I have two more ladies to photograph for this project and I'm really looking forward to it!
