Fresh 48 Session: Welcome Baby Sam! • Rhode Island Family Photographer
The birth of a baby is a miraculous, magical thing. Finally meeting and falling in love with a little person you've been expecting is a life experience like no other. But you know what? In my time as a Rhode Island family photographer, I've had many moms say to me, "I regret not having many/any photos of the first few days of our baby's life. That time was a whirlwind and it passed so quickly."
This is why I offer Fresh 48 sessions: a photo session where I come to you where your baby has been delivered within 48 hours of his/her birth and document baby's first hours earthside.
One morning early this month I woke up to a text I'd been anticipating: Melissa had delivered baby Sam and it was time for me to go shoot their Fresh 48! (Side note: are you a mom? If you are, please check out Melissa's blog right now. She has all flavors of helpful, honest, and real mom goodness there. I'm a fan. You should be, too.) I took the short trip to the Wakefield, RI hospital where Sam was delivered, arrived at their hospital room, and then was lucky enough to watch and document Sam's first hours with his family. It was moving and powerful. Tiny baby fingers and toes and curly newborn arms and legs...amazing. Seeing a toddler kiss his new baby brother...priceless.
