Project 365: My Favorite Month • Rhode Island Photographer
I'll let you in on a little secret: July is my favorite month. It always has been. July is summer. During the day it is the sound of lawnmowers and the smell of the ocean or of chlorine. At night it is fireflies and the box fan in your window lulling you to sleep. July has a certain sound and a certain smell and there is nothing else like it.
There has been a lot that has gone on in this first half of July. Surfing in Narragansett and Matunuck. A holiday weekend that went a lot differently than planned. Lionel the cat's first birthday (he had a cake smash...with some cat food "cake"!). Lionel the cat testing out a teepee I got to use for children's photo sessions; Lionel is not impressed. That's OK, Lionel. The children of Rhode Island and beyond will be impressed. I also discovered that I really, really like my Sigma Art 24mm prime lens that I got about a month ago. It's great for documenting all sorts of things.
