The Princess And The Bunny • RI Children's Photographer
So many of the sessions I do are in natural or wooded locations. As a RI children’s photographer, these locations are my favorites and have become a signature part of my style. You never know what type of wildlife you might come across during a session. Occasionally the random fox or deer will scamper across a path, and bunnies are a very frequent visitor, especially in the spring and summer.
Usually, the bunnies will hop away when they realize there are humans in the vicinity, but that wasn’t the case at a recent princess session with Miss M.
We had our session at a lovely Wakefield location. It was a cloudy but warm evening and Miss M got to wear one of the newest dresses from the Princess Closet! She is a wonderful subject with a personality to match. She had me smiling throughout the entire session. Miss M is very sure of herself which is a GREAT quality to have for any young person.
Near the beginning of our session, a bunny appeared further down the path. I learned from Miss M’s parents that bunnies are a very special symbol to them. Instead of running away after spotting all the humans, the bunny just watched us the entire session and didn’t seem at all concerned by our talking, moving, bubble blowing, or anything else. At the end of the session, Miss M (along with her bubbles) walked down the path towards the bunny. She got closer and closer and I expected the bunny to move with each step but he just stayed right there, like he was expecting his friend Miss M. She was able to get so close to him, and the very last photo I took is of Miss M walking towards the bunny while blowing her bubbles. The bunny hasn’t made another appearance since, but I keep hoping he will.
