My Favorite Locations: Hidden Gem in South Kingstown | RI Family Photographer
It’s been awhile since I’ve written about a favorite location for a session, though I have a whole series on them (to see them all, click the word “locations” that appears at the top of this post). I’m always on the lookout for new locations, especially since there have been some changes to my very favorite location that make it still usable, but a lot different than before. As a RI family photographer, I like to have a variety of locations available to offer to clients.
Just under a year ago, I came across a location in South Kingstown that I’d driven by many times, but somehow missed. I ventured in for a look and was so happy with what I found! While it may look kind of boring and nondescript to a non-photographer (most locations I use probably do look this way to others!) it ticks all the boxes in what I am looking for in a good location.
I’ve only been able to use this lovely spot a few times so far (including when taking self portraits of my dog, Lemmy and I…we like to test locations this way!) but I’m looking forward to more upcoming sessions here.
First off, let’s discuss the light there. It’s sooooo pretty! It’s the kind of light that makes a photographer’s heart go pitter patter and makes for glorious photos.
This location is usable for only part of the year but I still love how the light changes but is still gorgeous. And I’m always a sucker for a tree-lined path. That’s what first drew me in!
Even when the sun drops below the trees, the light falling on subjects is still lovely and the backdrop of trees frames everything so nicely. This location is perfect for family sessions, sibling sessions, and princess sessions. Bonus: it’s quite close to the beach, so you can swing by and see the ocean after your session and breathe in some of that wonderful salt air.
Get in touch to book your session at this location or any of my other favorites!
