Local Business Feature: Benny And Jack • RI Family Photographer
Does your family include any members of the four-legged canine variety? Statistically speaking, you just might...68% of families in the US are dog owners. As a RI family photographer, I've met lots of families who have a pup or two or three (and I've even photographed some of them!)
Dogs are just as important as any human members of our families, and they have their own sets of wants and needs. Fortunately, there is a local store that that can help you keep your pet happy and healthy. Benny and Jack, located at 577 Kingstown Rd. in Wakefield, is not your ordinary pet store.
I had the opportunity to visit recently (and I met Jack the dog, too!). Co-owners Rachel and Dave Bilow care very much about their local dog and human community. Rachel describes Benny and Jack as follows: "Happy, Healthy Pets. It’s our passion! More than just a pet retail store, Benny and Jack also offers walk-in dog self wash stations, full service grooming, an obedience training center in addition to participating in many community events. With a focus on proper nutrition, you’ll find everything for your furry family member's health and happiness. In addition, we've recently launched the Benny and Jack line of seaside inspired collars and leashes.
Benny and Jack is far from any chain pet store. They build up the local dog community by offering education, advice, and services, and support local animal welfare organizations. Says Rachel, "We all live locally and we have a vested interest in our local community. In addition, we strive wherever possible to source locally made products and support our fellow local businesses." (Like those collars and cookies pictured above!)
If you haven't already, pay a visit to Benny and Jack! Bring your dog along and see if they tell you what they want the most this holiday. Those cookies sure look yummy.
