Product Showcase: Digital Files • RI Family Photographer

One of the things I’m very passionate about is printing photos. As a RI family photographer, my business is largely print based. It makes me very happy to be able to provide my clients with beautiful heirloom-quality, high end print products, wall art, albums, and more that will stand the test of time. Printed products are a wonderful way to have your memories be tangible and in front of you on a day to day basis.

That said, we live in a digital age, and digital files are important to a lot of people. There are many reasons why, from sharing on social media or via email with relatives, to printing yourself, to having a backup copy of your photos “just in case”, just to name a few. I realize that digitals are an option that may be important to clients, and I offer several different options for digital purchase along with print items! You can have the best of both worlds with AKP.

If you decide to make a purchase that includes digital files, you’ll receive your files on a custom, engraved USB drive in a keepsake box.

It’s important to me that you have something physical that has a copy of your digital photos. This makes it easier for you to back them up. Also, lots of people do their computing nowadays solely on phones or tablets, which aren’t able to handle digital photo downloads. Having your photos on a USB gets around that issue!

Something that’s really important with digital files, if you choose to print them, is WHERE you print them (in fact, I include this information in a file on the USB with all digital purchases!) You want to make sure your photos look as they should look, and not all print labs are created equal. For example, getting photos printed at CVS or Walgreens is never a good idea! There are three great consumer labs that I recommend: Mpix, Nations Photo Lab, and Adorama’s photo processing division. These are all photo labs open to consumers and you can be sure your prints will come back looking amazing!
