Surfboard Stories volume 10 • Wakefield RI photographer
Today's installment of Surfboard Stories features Cousin Geoff. Yes, that's right, Cousin Geoff. That's how he was introduced to me the first time I met him a few years ago and that's the end of that. (Cousin) Geoff is just another participant who came with his board and outfit unintentionally coordinated to my backdrop. Surfers are obviously awesome. Without even trying. Period. Additionally, Geoff was the easiest to pose out of probably everyone I've done this project with. I'm thinking I need to have him give lessons on how to pose for a portrait with your surfing board. Check out Geoff, his board, and his answers to the famous nine questions below.
What's your name? Geoffrey Bouchard
Do you have a superhero name or any superpowers that I should know about? My superhero name is Cousin Geoff and my powers are how awesome I am.
What board did you bring with you today? I brought my Walden Retro Fish.
Why did you bring this board? It was the board that I really learned to surf creatively on. It's my go to board and has been for 7 years.
Where did you get it? I got it at Warm Winds surf shop. I know, not a very cool story.
Do you remember the first wave you ever caught on this board? The first wave I ever caught was at Point Judith, and I was instantly in love with how the board floated through turns in a nice arch.
Do you remember your favorite wave ever (or favorite day ever) on this board? My favorite day was the day before or after X-mas about 4 years ago at the town beach by the barge. Again not an amazing story but the conditions were perfect and so much fun!
Do you have a favorite place to ride it? My favorite place to ride this board is at 40's.
Any final words? Got any beers?
